Shiatu Ali Asked by Anonymous Heey , im sorry if this question bothers you. Im just curious Dont shias believe that jibreel made a fault , and choose Mohammed pbuh instead of Ali ra ? Shiatu Ali answered : Hello, hope you’re doing well Absolutely not, Shias do not believe that Angel Jibreel made a mistake in revealing revelation to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) instead of Imam Ali (as) Firstly we must understand how Allah communicates with His creations: Angels, Prophets, humans, animals, and plants. Allah has three different ways when revealing revelation to Prophets: 1) Behind the veil (Min wara il hijab) : Allah can create a voice and that can be how He communicates with the Prophet, for ex. Prophet Musa and the story of the Burning Bush. Allah does not have a voice because no voice is able to define Allah, if you can define Allah by His voice then He is limited which He is not so He creates a voice. 2) Talaqee or Ilqa: Allah infuses wahi directly into the soul, for ex. “We will put infuse within you a heavy word” (73:5) This is the most difficult way for the Prophet to bear. Imam Ali (as) says when the Sura Maeidah was revealed, he saw the Prophets face began to change, the camel he was riding and his stomach started to feel pain. That is when the Prophet said the Divine inspiration is being infused in my soul. They could tell when wahi was being infused in him by looking at his face. 3) Angel Jibreel: Angel Jibreel would bring a message from Allah and the message would be taken to the Prophet. Bukhari and Muslim narrate the first revelation Iqra (read) where “The angel came to him and asked him to read. The Prophet replied ‘I do not know how to read’. The Prophet added, ‘The angel caught me (forcibly) and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read and I replied, “I do not know how to read”. Thereupon he caught me again and pressed me a second time till I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read, but again I replied, “I do not know how to read” (or what shall I read?). Thereupon he caught me for the third time and pressed me, and then released me and said: “Read, in the name of Your Lord, who created, created man from a clot. Read! And Your Lord is the most bountiful” … [Bukhari, I, No. 3; VI, No. 478; Muslim I, No. 301.] The school of Ahlulbayt completely rejects this. We believe that the Prophet knew he was a Prophet for the first forty years and became a Rasul when revelation came to him. On the fortieth year is when he moved to a Nabi (Prophet) to a Rasul (Messenger) He was a chosen Prophet since he was born. When he was given the Holy Book, that is when he went out and spread the message and truth of Islam. The people of Mecca used to call the Prophet as-Sadiq (The Truthful) al-Ameen (The Trustworthy), they went to him when they had their problems needing of solving. When the Prophet received the first revelation, he was not epileptic, did not have hysteria and did not have a seizure. The battle was not about iqra. The school of Ahlulbayt believe each sura except Al-Tawba starts with Bismillah il rahman ir rahim. Angel Jibreel came to the Prophet and said congratulations comes from the Lord and glad tidings to you Oh Muhammad for now you are a messenger of the thaqalain. Jibreel had struck his wing on the ground and came forth water. The Prophet was asked to perform withu (ablution) with the water and so he did. He was then asked to recite the following: Bismillah ir rahman ir raheem, iqra bismika rabee khalq. Khalaq il insan min alaq, iqra wa rabuka akram. The Prophet recited after him not because he was the Angel but because he knew it was Allahs words: Bismillah il rahman il raheem (In the name of God, the Most beneficent, the most merciful) The first word was not iqra, it was bismillah il rahman il raheem. Allah does not make any mistakes. When He sent down His message to the Prophet Muhammad through Jibreel, Jibreel did not make any mistake in coming to the Prophet instead of Imam Ali. Like I said, Shias believe he was a chosen Prophet since the day he was born. Imam Ali had a huge role in Islam no doubt but that was no mistake. I apologize if this was too long but I needed to explain each part. I hope I answered your question and no don’t worry, it did not bother me. Repost from #Shiatu Ali
