Shift Manager – Mechanical Maintenance - Finishing ArcelorMittal Cleveland has an immediate opening for a Shift Manager - Mechanical Maintenance in our Finishing Division in Cleveland, Ohio. The following primary position responsibilities and key position requirements are intended to provide an overview of the position, but are not all-inclusive. Position Summary • The Shift Manager - Mechanical Maintenance will be directly responsible for the production and turn maintenance of all units within the Finishing & Shipping Division. Mechanical Shift Managers must have knowledge of mechanical drives, hydraulics and crane systems, and managing spare parts inventory. • The Shift Manager supervises hourly personnel within the division and handles personnel issues, while also working with area managers, area coordinators, and production shift managers. • As a Mechanical Maintenance Shift Manager you will be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, including but not limited to: • Enforcing safety regulations • Conducting daily safety communications • Monitoring monthly safety activity • Conducting safety inspections as needed • Directing the work of union represented craft personnel responsible for maintaining operating equipment through time- based, predictive, maintenance programs. • Resolving equipment malfunctions requiring scheduled shutdowns or “emergency breakdown” action • Maintain spares inventory • Ensure good housekeeping practices are followed • Safely leading the productivity, quality, maintenance and shipping activities in Finishing & Shipping. Applicants must problem solve and make decisions, read blue prints and schematics, use desktop computer for assignments, reporting, and limited word processing. This position requires solid interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal. Successful applicants will be required to work rotating turn schedules. Qualifications: • High school diploma, GED or 3 years equivalent work experience in heavy manufacturing and 2 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment for this position Preferred Requirements: • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a technical field, including engineering or a non-technical including business management, operational supervision or equivalent experience, with 3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing/industrial environment Work City: Cleveland, OH Relocation: Yes Please email an updated resume to sfields@careerfieldsconsulting or call Sheneka Fields at 913-738-2498.
