Shift Your Expectations When Peter and John were going up to - TopicsExpress

Shift Your Expectations When Peter and John were going up to the synagogue one day to pray, they were temporarily halted by a man asking for alms. Rather than walking right on by, Peter stopped and told that man, “Look on us.” Acts 3:5 reveals to us the man’s response to Peter. It says, “And he gave heed unto them, Expecting to Receive Something of them.” Notice that although it was likely that the lame man was not expecting to receive healing from Peter and John, he was, “expecting to receive something of them.” Peter took the man’s hand, spoke words of faith and authority to him, and the man was healed! He went walking and leaping and praising God! It is very likely that greater things happened that day at the gate of the temple than happened in the temple. And one of the primary reasons is that the man at the gate was Expecting to Receive Something! I wonder if some of the great things that happen in people’s life happen in the church services Because they come to the services Expecting to Receive? I’m sure myself that is often the case. But…….what would be happening in people’s lives the other 6 days of the week if they had the same level of Expectation for God to speak to them, heal them, and refresh them as they have when they go to church? Perhaps their daily life would be filled up with much more revelation, healing, direction, and comfort from God?? A “Shift toward Daily Expectation” could be a great “shift” for some believers…..To shift from only Expecting to be ministered to by God one hour of the week to Expecting to be ministered to by God seven days a week! Turn up your Expector! Expect to Receive Something from God on a daily basis. And I believe you will have multiplied opportunities every week to go walking, leaping and praising God!
