TS Eliot, you are a brother. Does anyone read anymore? More to the point, does anyone think anymore? How about a quick bibliography of basic literacy for life on earth? Lets start with Eisler, Bookchin and Kropotkin, as absolute fundamentals, for a start - no one can call themselves even basically literate who has not read them. (If you dont even know the names, dont feel bad: your education has utterly failed you, and you must do it on your own.) Then add....ah....what does it matter? No one reads, and few people think. Good luck. I wish you well. Yes, that is rather cocky, and ungracious, and also impolite. But do you know what is really impolite? What is impolite beyond all words to describe? What is beyond impolite, and moreover, simply unconscionable? Answer: That so few people rouse their spine from a supine position to stand up against the radically ridiculous new pharaohs-to-be, and the obvious destruction of all life on earth. They would rather sit on their sofas, and make judgements about anyone who speaks up, or who speaks with any passion about anything that matters - other than soccer, and hockey, and other trivia and banalities......(Games are fun – but games are games. We can deal with the real world too.) I am at a loss. The responsiveness that is needed, in order to deal effectively with the problems facing humanity, is not nearly in accord with the response presently given. Forgive me if that makes me temporarily beside myself. I am putting it in the mildest possible terms. I am screaming, at the top of my lungs - and there is, apart from a few souls, a deafening silence. We are on the Titanic, and the ship is sinking. The ship is going down, and the band plays on. A few are re-arranging deck chairs, but most are entirely oblivious, steeped in denial, or completely unconscious. We are asleep, while the world dies. Glub, glub. Gurgle, gurgle.
