Shirley and I went to an auction tonight ... Im very excited about the items we purchased ... Got some vintage movie posters from the 40s and 50s ...the BIG ones ... The kind that would have been displayed in theaters ... They are so big ...they come in two sections ... A vintage metal sign advertising a long defunct soda company called Dexters from Providence Rhode Island ... A vintage Electrovoice model 644 shotgun mic ... A bronze, art-nouveau Kayser vase ... and believe it or not ...a very very old hand-wrought, livestock branding iron .... and a box lot of vintage advertising and posters ... Everything from Whiskey to Horse medicine, to Planters Peanuts ... literally soup to nuts ..lol ...... and a turn-of-the-century, antique, beach lifeguards vest with an embroidered patch on it ... excellent condition . The funnest part of the auction comes afterwards, when we all sit around and complain about the things we SHOULDVE bought but let pass ... Made some new friends ... shook a lot of hands .. A wonderful wonderful evening with Shirley ... And thats a rare thing for us ... As we both work so much its rare we have free time at the same time ... The hell with casinos ... This is MY kind of gambling ...
