Thank you for your support. You might remember Dallas, a 7 yr old dal came into WHDR on 1/1/14. He was very thin, weak, part of his tail was missing with bone being exposed and he had sores on his legs and back. After visiting the vet we found out he was anemic, malnourished and loaded with roundworms. After several deworming treatments and home cooking he put on weight. After time, and several trips to the vet, he was no longer anemic and was worm free. At that point he was healthy enough to have part of his tail amputated and to be neutered. All of this happened from 1/2/14-2/8/14 and between office visits, bloodwork, medicines and surgery it cost a total of $743.75. Dallas was then adopted out late February 2014 to a family and all was well. In August 2014 they contacted us because he was urinating frequently and there was blood in his urine. At our suggestion, they had a urinalysis done and it showed a high RBC and high microalbuminuria. He was then treated with antibiotics in case of infection. After a few weeks the family reported that Dallas was still urinating frequently and his attitude had changed. He was aggitated and grumpy and they decided to give him back to the rescue on September 2014. We had another urinalysis done on 9/12/14 and the RBC was normal but the microalbuminuria was still high. He had blood work done, everything came back at normal levels. He also had an ultrasound and xray done which showed a single stone in his bladder measuring 2.3cm which is almost an inch, the size of a quarter. His bladder is inflamed so he was put on antibiotics. He’s currently on UD. We are scheduling surgery. At this point the office visits, blood work and test have cost $401.35 which we have paid. Surgery will cost 1000-$1200 and we are going to need some financial help.
