Shoot me – I sat down with this bass part out of curiosity, got fundamentals but was in semi- disbelief, deciding to look for a link w/demonstration. Can barely follow Bassist James Jameson’s process in how he hears/spells out changes. He plays the 4 against the 5 for the 3rd change in verses, to create a truly magical suspension. This isn’t even to mention how he connects the dots. How can something sound so perfect and natural yet be so far away from the written chords on the writer’s chart????
