Shoplifter arrested: Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Larry Parrott and Senior Sgt. Greg Poynter arrested Deborah Morton age 50 of South US Highway 25, Corbin on Friday night March 14, 2014 at approximately 8:26 PM. At Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County. The arrest was the result of the subject apparently being observed by Walmarts loss prevention team trading tags on jeans from a cheaper pair to a more expensive pair. In addition, at the self checkout the subject under rang other items she had selected in the store. Deborah Morton was charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting and was lodged in the Laurel County detention facility. Photo attached is courtesy of the Laurel County detention facility.
