Short Story. Allah Is Lord Over Your Destiny. A man entered a mosque when it was not yet time for prayers and found a boy of about ten-years old praying with proper focus and much humility. He waited until the boy had finished his prayer, then he approached him, greeted him and asked, “Whose son are you?” The boy lowered his head and a tear rolled down his cheek, then he raised his head and said; “O uncle, am an orphan who has no father nor mother.” The man felt sorry for him and said: “Would you like to be my son?” The boy asked, “If I get hungry will you feed me?” “Yes.” “When am naked will you clothe me?” “Yes.” “If I fall sick will you heal me?” “I am not able to do that, my son.” “If I die will you bring me back to life?” The man said, “I am not able to do that.” ★ The boy said, ”Then leave me, my uncle, to the One Who created me, for He will guide me and He is the One who gives me food and drink. If I fall sick He heals me and He is the One Who, I hope, will forgive me on the Day of Judgement.” The man fell silent and went on his way, saying, “I believe in Allah, whoever puts his trust in Allah, Allah will suffice him.” The moral of this story is to always place your trust in Allah. No problem is too big that He cant handle. When one door is closed, Allah has designed it as a test to you, for He is holding another door open, better than the one He closed. Dont keep looking over your shoulder at the closed door, it merely postpones the positive effect the new door holds for you. I know someone who lost his job and kept wishing for his old job back. Meanwhile, he took to prayers and listening daily to Quran recitations. The most beautiful thing happened. He could recite new Surahs from memory. A feat he was unable to achieve during his working days. He was also able to control his constant urge for cigarettes and lower his daily intake. And he is now planning to kick the habit. Insha Allah, he is now focussed to accept any job that will come his way. He can proudly face new challenges that will come his way. Insha Allah. Let us pray that Allah gives him a well deserved break and a better paying job soon, Ameen Ya Rabb
