Short Summary Caring for animals is something that just comes - TopicsExpress

Short Summary Caring for animals is something that just comes natural to me. I am a full-time college student, a full-time employee, but most importantly I am a full-time animal lover. I am a senior at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas and a office worker at a small construction company. Although I work and attend college, my passion resides in helping animals. I have dedicated my life to caring to injured animals that have been neglected and abandoned. An example of my devotion to care for animals, during college one day a squirrel fell from a tree while I was walking to my class and was severally injured, I scooped her up and skipped class to drive across town to the veterinarian office. The vet bill cost me $375 and a F on the quiz I missed at class. But I would do it all over again if I had the chance. The life of an animal means more than any materialistic item. A quiz can be made up in the next class, money can be made on the next paycheck, but a life is precious and fragile and cannot be made up or earned on a paycheck. Once its gone its gone forever. The Wounded Dog Projects sole mission is to care for injured animals and to find them a good home. Some animals are neglected and starved, forced to live in an environment that is so harsh that they literally die from malnutrition. Others are injured and abandoned to die a lonely suffering death. While others are animals that have good owners that can not afford the high cost of vet bills so they choose to put the dog down via euthanasia. We provide basic veterinarian care for wounded dogs free of charge to all that we reach. For more advanced veterinarian care we take the animal to the Local Veterinarian office and pay out pocket to help save the animal. When I first started this project, I paid all veterinarian expenses out of my paycheck. I helped as many animals and animal lovers as I could afford. As of today, our goal is to have 10 volunteers and a few local donors to help with this fight to preserve the life of these precious animals. There is no specific amount we need. Every single penny helps our cause! The $1000 goal we set is the amount we need to run the Wounded Dog Project for the next 60 days. Every penny over the $1000 dollars will keep our doors open for another day. If we fall short of our goal, we will just keep going and try even harder next time. But at least we tried. For every donation, we will send a biography packet of the animals your funding help save. Other Ways You Can Help If you cannot contribute in a monitory value, please help us spread the word. Thats the biggest contribution of all.
