Short Supertramp update: The weather has been terrible so far, rivers are flooding from snow and the rain is never ending. Bernie has reached a wilderness hut approximately in the middle of iceland. His rain gear is not doing its job and the rain even gets into his plastic dry bags after a few days. It seems that his trailer is now retired but he is now around halfway and the load is manageable, the cart was never meant to last into the southern mountains anyways. He has met rangers and some other guys coming from the front that have been blocked from their destinations by the weather so he is carefully figuring out and attempting safe ways of going south in betweens storms. Nevertheless he is still intending to finish in a little bit less than 20 days from now and after reaching the wilderness hut he is in fact ahead of schedule. We should have real news and hopefully good photos from him when he reaches Nyldalur in the next few days. Stay warm, Stay safe, Always keep on exploring!
