Short and IMO very accurate. A downside to Israel necessarily defending itself is that Hamas wants Palestinian casualties. They use their people Including women and children) as hostages and shields .. they don’t allow them to take cover in bunkers but rather march them out and forcefully put them around rocket firing sites or around other potential targets. Why do they do this? Because they know they can never defeat Israel militarily .. but they hope to defeat them in the Court of Public Opinion and in some cases that has worked. Nobody wants to see innocent civilians killed so the more civilians Hamas can put in harm’s way the more sympathy they will get from Muslims and Liberals in the West. If the West (or more so .. the U.S.A.) criticizes or abandons Israel .. or Muslim countries become primed on the enormous amount of anti-Israeli bogus propaganda that is even now flooding the Net .. of if those Muslim countries can be encouraged to band together and attack Israel .. then Hamas wins a psychological war and the United Nations might feel a need to step in. I have previously reported polls that showed that most Gaza residents are not supportive of Hamas and they are fed up with their barbaric actions. In fact, Palestinians residing in Gaza are victims in more ways than one .. but it is their own elected government that is harming them.
