Short-sighted and foolish. TCC rears its ugly head again. Using savings for a one-time plug to recurring expenses is bad fiscal management, especially in a year when the budget committee is recommending a tax rate increase of LESS THAN 1.5%. Remember, the following year we have the library bond coming on the books. So not only will we need to pay for this new expense with our savings depleted, we will need to find a way to pay for the $600K we plugged with a one time revenue source as well. Only two ways to do that - raise taxes or cut programs and services.
