Short stories are often seen as the novels poor cousin. But this - TopicsExpress

Short stories are often seen as the novels poor cousin. But this view sells them short (so to speak!) as stories often have a compressed power which get you thinking and feeling in new ways. As writer David Sedaris said:“A good [short story] would take me out of myself and then stuff me back in, outsized, now, and uneasy with the fit.” A book of short stories is a great way to find new writers. Stories are also good when you are between books, or when youre wading through a worthy tome and just want something that will refresh and inspire you. One of my favourite stories is Night Face Up by Julio Cortazar.
