Short story: There are still honest people in the world -- lost my cell phone and got it back! Either that or the person who found it saw the horribly cracked screen and didnt want it. Long Story - Last night: Walk 5 mins to my car and realize I dont have my cell phone. Remember taking it out in a crowded bar (Plough & The Stars), and figure that when I put it back into my jacket pocket, I was actually just dropping it on floor (must have missed the pocket flap). Drive back to the bar with low expectations, and luckily find a spot across the street. Head in to the bar like a fish swimming upstream. Bartender says to go to the coat check. Wait in line at the coat check. The nice lady there says, why yes, they did get a cell phone turned in. But I need to be able to describe it. I say, Samsung Galaxy S3. Popular phone, unfortunately. She says, What color? Me: Umm... the back is kind of a blue. She thinks. She asks the manager. Whats youre wallpaper? Ive never changed either the lock screen or the wallpaper. Theyre stock whatever AT&T or Google put on there. I frown and say, I cant describe it but the screen is cracked. REALLY cracked. She goes, gets the phone, looks at it and hands it over. Yep - its my phone! Turns out we couldnt have verified the wallpaper anyway; battery was dead. And the screen has even more cracks; someone must have stepped on it. Theres a new little cluster in a small area; probably a womans high heel. Ah well - I have the phone back and it works. Thanks, to an honest person, wherever you are!
