Shortly after 4 a.m., GFD and mutual aid units were dispatched to the Comfort Inn for reported smoke in the building coming from the laundry room. 1A arrived on scene with nothing showing from the exterior. Lt 1, Chief 1, and Engine 1-2 arrived on scene next in short succession. Chief 1 had command while Lt. 1 took investigation. Engine 1-2 laid in a supply line and advanced an attack line into the structure. Upon opening the door, heavy smoke was found banked down to the floor. Personnel discovered a dryer and its contents were on fire and extinguished it with the attack line. The building was ventilated and the box was placed in service. (JC)
