Shortly after I joined Facebook I announced my ongoing research into that rare breed, people whose first names are the same as their last. Im sure youll agree that this work is vital for humanity. For the many millions who share my interest, I have great news. Today not one but two people with reduplicated names appeared in reports in the London Evening Standard. Heres my excitingly updated list: 1. Neville Neville (father of footballers Gary and Phil). 2. Qiao Qiao (first openly lesbian artist in China). 3. Ford Madox Ford (English novelist). 4. Jerome K. Jerome (English novelist). 5. Mohammed Mohammed (suspected terrorist who escaped in a burqa). 6. Evans Evans (American actress). 7. Gonzalez Gonzalez (Mexican-American actor). 8. Lang Lang (Chinese pianist). 9. Bruce La Bruce (Canadian film maker). 10. Den Den (Hong Kong fetish artist). 11. Sirhan Sirhan (assassin of Robert Kennedy). 12. Lauren Lauren (American model). 13. Weng Weng (Filipino midget actor). 14. Tohme Tohme (Michael Jacksons Lebanese doctor). 15. Roland Rowland (British businessman). 16. Fares Fares (Lebanese-Swedish actor). 17. Mbala Mbala (French comedian). 18. George W. George (American producer). 19. Michael Michael (British supergrass). 20. Alan Alan (British magician and escapologist). Sadly not all these people were born with these names. With Andrew Leavold for reasons he will appreciate.
