Shorts will be permitted provided that the shorts are neatly hemmed, conservative and modest in appearance. Campus administration will determine appropriate length. Excessively high slits in skirts and tight spandex will not be permitted ~2014-2015 NEISD Student Handbook, Dress code section so I had a meeting with Mr. Todd Bloomer yesterday regarding an unrelated issue, but asked about the athletic shorts issue. He mentioned he thought the dress code explicitly prohibited athletic shorts. I have posted the section regarding shorts above. Please tell me if I am wrong, but I see no mention of athletic shorts. It seems to me that as long as they are not bike shorts, spandex, etc. and have neat hems and are of acceptable length, they should be fine.
