Shorty has been making himself at home here at Uni Ave Vets! Pictured here with Manager Trena, it seems Shorty is most comfortable when he is on someones lap! He is even happier to see his dad while waiting for his specialist appointment today. Shorty had an altercation with a cow that wandered onto his familys block from a neighbouring property, breaking his hind left leg. He was rushed here after hours last Sunday, and xrays showed Shorty had fractured his tibia and fibula. Our vet Dr Kim gave Shorty pain medication and sedation so that a padded, supportive bandage could be placed. Shorty has been in hospital with us awaiting his appointment with specialist Dr Smith, and is scheduled to undergo surgery tomorrow to have his fractures repaired. Despite what hes been through, Shorty always greets us with a big grin on his face, and is not shy in letting us know when hes due for a cuddle!
