Should I continue to use Facebook? Your feedback in the comments - TopicsExpress

Should I continue to use Facebook? Your feedback in the comments below is critical. But before you comment, please hear what I have to say. Back in the day, before Facebook or Twitter even existed, the primary way I connected with you was on the TedDekker message boards. Eventually, I started an email list mostly because that’s what authors do. Then Facebook came around and it’s been our primary gathering place ever since. But things have changed. A lot. The Facebook that exists today isn’t the one we all knew even a year ago. Even if you “like” my page, my updates rarely reach more than 15% of you. The last time I wanted to make sure my status update reached everyone, Facebook charged me $3,000. That was for one post. Imagine if I wanted to post something a couple times a week to reach all of you. Crazy, I know. In the past two years, many of you have complained that you’ve missed out on giveaways, events, announcements and connection points. It’s also tough to get substantial discussion on Facebook. I want to bear more of my heart and hear more of yours. So, after much advice, I’ve reluctantly taken a second look at email and decided that it should be the primary way I connect with my readers going forward, not just regarding novels, but regarding the lives we live during our few short years on earth. Thank you for reading and being part of my life. Whatever this community has become, I owe it all to you, and I’m looking forward to sharing more with you. Dive Deep, Ted P.S.
