Should being 18 and above be the only eligibility determinant for voting especially in national elections? The fact that rejected ballots for the 2012 elections were more than the 3rd placed party raises very pertinent issues of concern in terms of the composition of our electorate. NPP just ended elections recorded over thousand rejected ballot papers despite the fact that the NPP electorate were executives from various constituencies and are expected to know better. I am pretty sure the NDC will record similar numbers in their up-coming elections. Do people really know and appreciate the importance and relevance of exercising their franchise,is enough education and awareness being created, or have we gotten to the point where Ghana needs to consider an electoral college where certain fundamentals have to be met before one can vote? If rejected ballot papers are capable of deciding who becomes the president, then my Motherland has a long way to go
