Should we really think it logical, or even common, for an author - TopicsExpress

Should we really think it logical, or even common, for an author to tell us a story beginning from point A, and then skip all the letters to the end of the alphabet, Z? You admit that the dragon attempting to kill the male-child to be first century Jesus. But then were to believe that John skipped 2,000 years of what the Futurist refer to as end of days or end times, just to tell his first-century-relevant audience about an evil nation 2000 years from their future, that none of the early church witnesses would care about in the first place? I must ask this question. Why are Futurists so determine to add thousands of years of a gap in between Prophesy? I really want to know, if anyone cares to answer. Why must there be such a large gap?
