Should we (vegans)try to reclaim the word vegetarian? Technically means vegan. Not trying to be a douche, but I think it would help highlight certain things. Like people hear vegetarian and think ethically minded and vegan is just like extreme and whats the point because cows and chickens arent killed.I know some vegetarians say they cant be vegan because they depend on people for their food and stuff like that. I dont want to get into that and Im not calling you bad people, but I think maybe the label of vegetarian shouldnt be used. Perhaps vegan shouldnt be used either. If youre vegetarian you still contribute to a lot of suffering and eat basically everything. I dont think vegetarian is very fitting name. A name that implies non meat eater would be better. Not sure what that would be. So then there would only be vegans, vegetarians (which would mean the same thing)and non vegans/vegetarians which would include egg/milk eaters. It would highlight the ethical issue, the fact that cows and chickens suffer and simplifiy things.
