Should welfare recipients (politicians, cops, military personnel, civil service, DMV employees, single moms and average people that wait in long lines at the welfare office) be blamed for receiving money the state takes from everyone else? Not in my opinion. I think its important to remember its not the receivers taking from anyone (well, some of the armed thug state agents have a large role in that area, but those jobs are a tiny portion of the large swath of welfare recipients). If youre going to be mad about it, it would seem logical (to me at least) to direct your anger at the thing that takes the means to begin with: the state (which is nothing more than an institution of law ie written codes on a piece of paper state employees follow, written by other welfare recipients ie politicians). So, my personal political strategy on the matter is to unapologetically help the state die quicker by advocating the system give back what it took to as many people as much as possible -- with the idea the quicker the coffers are drained, the more it has to steal, the sooner people will realize how bad of an idea it is -- especially considering all the limiting regulatory and licensing codes (and minimum wage laws) that artificially restrict the supply in certain jobs preventing people from even being able to get a normal, productive job in the economy that comes along with it. But, to be consistent, in my opinion, at least, I dont advocate voting to steal more from the public (or voting at all for politicians that like to put their stamp on the federal or state registry of laws). The politicians will vote to have the state steal more on their own. They really dont need our help. #Agorist PS One other note: I find this sort of funny, too, because Republicans specifically give lip service to minimal government (thats a paradox, but thats not what this is about), and so they seek policies that improve the states financial status -- which inevitably is handed over to democrats and other republicans to spend outrageously (on whatever their preferences are -- like big tanks or big insurance websites) ultimately creating a bigger government. Funny how that works.
