SMA and SUMA trumpet this but its just not true. What indeed were the small numbers of people asked anyway? Would you rather have an airport or a massive London overspill sink estate? That might produce one set of results. Would you rather have a 24/7 massive cargo hub with night flights or an attractively landscaped mixed use park with some executive housing? That might produce a totally different set of results. Neither of these subjective questions would be allowed by an official polling organisation. So stop saying that 95% of residents want an airport. At best you simply dont know and at worst its a downright distortion of the truth.
