Shout out to my young charge,Travis, at the tot lot today Were hanging on a bench,discussing possible lunch options (we went with pizza). Travis is approached by a very young toddler, who in spite of super tinyness is quite adept at using election material (shit, I gotta vote!) as a weapon. Not mad at toddler, just kinda irritated with mom who apparently didnt feel that intervention was warranted. I did not concur. Travis does his level best to ignore tiny toddler, but the dude is three, kudos for making it as long as he did, at which point he decides hes done, and growls at her. Perfectly appropriate and I might even say inspired,response. Mom apparently didnt agree, and finally decides to get her child. Great, except she couldnt resist an attempt to pass off any responsibility, and says to Travis - oh, you dont like babies? Uh-uh. Lady. Me, Oh he likes babies just fine, he doesnt, however, like being hit. So you might want to keep that in mind while youre blaming him. We left and enjoyed our pizza.
