Ask God to give you a teachable heart. Ask Him to prepare your pastor to speak a word that will draw you closer to Himself – a word that will help you understand God better. Remember that God uses human beings as vessels to bring His word to us. Many times we choose to only receive from a certain kind of person who is older, more learned, richer or better positioned than us. But scripture clearly demonstrates that God can use anyone as an instrument of His instruction. May be the vehicle that God is using to instruct you is someone you consider as subordinate – poor, uneducated or young. An important part of spirituality is being willing and anxious to learn, regardless of whom God chooses as our unlikely teacher. To really learn the lessons that God is calling your attention to, you must look beyond the material limitations of the vehicle God is using and open your heart to the Holy Spirit. Today as you go to church allow God to speak you. He has a word for you! He has prepared a vessel to use to speak to you. Open your heart. Blessings!
