Top Panel Judge Simon Somers will be on hand to answer any questions you want to know about in-hand and ridden showing - literally anything youve ever wondered can you, or cant you do, he will advise - from how many plaits, through to top hat evening dress. Simon will also let you in the secret of what judges hate seeing in the show ring. Tickets are £5 including light refreshments. Is being held at Newmarket Equine Hospital, Cambridge Road, Newmarket (down by the National Stud and Rearing Horse Statue). Everyone who is either starting out showing or experienced show people will really benefit from this evening. And if youre too frightened to ask a question, but really want to know, then let me know and Ill ask the question for you. Already got a list long of questions for Simon. And still looking to find two people to take the last places for Allister Hood showing clinic on Wednesday evening 24th September. I must have your payment and booking form by 18th to go ahead with this. Its £43 per rider for a two hour plus session. This is primarily aimed to help those who are about to go to HOYS in a matter of weeks now - they want to make sure their horses will stand still in a line-up without fidgeting (which is letting a lot of riders down), they want to experience clapping and cheering (so the CD will be on loud), they want the judge as such to put a rosette on their bridle so the horses dont freak out, and basically go over their display and get in some practice with other horses of all shapes and sizes. The session will start at approx. 6.15pm. You neednt have qualified for HOYS to come along, this is open to anyone who would benefit from this mock-up session (even if youre only competing at local fun/riding club level - its there to help everyone) - juniors or seniors with ponies or horses. Both these showing sessions are something you shouldnt miss if youre seriously into showing. They are being put on to help you. Allister, if you dont know him, has a wealth of experience in showing and producing and winning the major show titles. So come along to both sessions and learn from two of the best show people about.
