Showkat Bakhshi JAMMU KASHMIR LIBERATION FRONT Maqbool Manzil SRINAGAR PRESS RELEASE DATED: 15th JAN 2014 JKLF HOLDS A PEACEFULL SIT- IN AT PARTAP PARK AS A SHOW OF SOLIDAIRTY WITH PRISONERS SRINAGAR// A peaceful protest sit-in was staged at Partap-Park Lal Chowk today in solidarity with the prisoners of Jammu Kashmir. The peaceful sit in organized by JKLF was led by senior JKLF leader Noor Mohammed Kalwal (zonal president JKLF) and was attended by hundreds of JKLF leaders and activists. The protestors raised slogans in favor of prisoners and held banners and placards bearing slogans against the atrocities committed against the prisoners of Jammu Kashmir languishing in jails all over India. During the sit in senior JKLF leader Noor Mohammad Kalwal while speaking to the media person said, that today’s sit in is intended to raise our peaceful voices against the atrocities committed against kashmiri prisoners across Indian jails. He said that today our brothers in jails are today suffering from various ailments, JKLF leader Sheikh Nazir Ahmad and Muslim league leader Doctor Qasim Faktoo are seriously ill. Two of our young boy’s sheikh Farhat and sheikh Imran languishing in Calcutta jail serving life imprisonment are on hunger strike from last many days, JKLF leader Zahoor Ahmad Bhat was attacked and injured inside Hiranagar jail. The relatives coming to meet their jailed kith and kin at Srinagar central jail are being humiliated. All these oppressive measures and atrocities are unbearable and kashmiri’s are raising their voices against these atrocities. Noor sahib said that the people who are serving jail are our hero’s and this nation stands at the back of these people. Noor sahib said that we are here as a show of solidarity with all those who are in jail especially lifers including , Zahoor Ahmed Butt ( brother martyr Mohammad Maqbool Bhat, father of the nation ) and person serving life sentence including Sheikh Nazir Ahmad, Dr. Mohammad Qasim , Showkat Ahmad Khan Javed Ahmed Khan , Mehmood Topi walla , Mohammad Ayoub Mir , Ghulam Qadir Bhat , Mohammad Shafi Khan , Raj din Khan , Shabir Ahmad Malik , Mohammad Amin Dar , Mohammad Ayub Dar , Noor Mohammad, Feroz Ahmad Bhat , Parvez Ahmed Mir , Sami Ullah Sheikh , Ali Mohammad Sheikh , Mohammad Amin Wani , Javed Ahmed Wani , Shabir Ahmad Najar , Gulzar Ahmad Wani and Muhammad Ishaq, Paul , Tariq Ahmad , Mushtaq Ahmad , Mohammad Ayub Wani , Javed Ahmed , Sheikh Imran and sheikh Farhat etc. Meanwhile JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik has expressed his heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of Mohammad Maqbool Mir Brath Zenageer who was a close friend of Shaheed Mohammad Maqbool Bhat, sheikh Dilawar @Lal sahib (grandfather of Shaheed i Hurriyat Sheikh Abdul Hameed) , Mohammad Maqbool Hussain of Muzafarabad, and Mohammad Shareef ( father of JKLF leader Zafar Iqbal Shareef).JKLF chairman while paying tributes to the departed souls prayed for their heavenly abode.
