Shreveport is my hometown and though I dont live there now, I live just an hour south. I have been aware for sometime of BBCs expansion plans. As the article states, the church has yet to fulfill its obligations from the last agreement with the MPC. Past actions(or the lack thereof) are a good indicator of future behavior. BBC is one of the largest churches in the city. Since I was a kid(in the 40s & 50s), they have expanded enormously. I think it is truly sad---and highly hypocritical---that a church which ostensibly represents Christ and his teachings would be so consumed with its master plan that it would disregard the wishes of a widow who simply wants to live out the remaining years of her life in her own home. BBCs action are even more shameful in light of the fact that the woman is a lifelong member of the church. The leaders of BBC would do well to turn to their bibles and read Mark 12:40: Who devour widows houses and for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.”
