Shri Bijoy Kumar Misra, a rare personality in Electricity Sector of India who spent most of his time in Bhutan as a special envoy of Govt. of India for Large Hydro projects. A down-to-earth person with immense technical knowledge and exposure who provides invaluable inputs for holistic development of the sector. Odisha was lucky enough to have him as its Member (Technical) in Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission till 5th April 2014. During his period many revolutionary steps were taken by the Commission. He stood behind the stakeholders of electricity sector - Govt., Private and Retail Consumers, to lift it up both in terms of conventional and his favorite subject of Renewable Energy. He tried his best by bringing in regulations for increasing percentage of RE in the Odisha Power Portfolio. Good part is, he listens to even early movers into the sector as he believes there is always something new to learn even from a toddler. He is sporty enough to lead the Earth Hour - Odisha Campaign in 2013 by being a part of the entire group in Puri Sand Art place. His unconditional support during Odisha Solar Conference in 2012 and 2013 inspired us to make it better and bigger every year. We will definitely have his shower of love and affection in coming days, as a mentor and as an advisor.
