Shuifu County (Chinese: 水富县; Pinyin: Shuǐfù Xiàn) is a county under the jurisdiction of Zhaotong Prefecture-level City located on the boundary of Sichuan and Yunnan provinces, and it is on the side of Jinsha River. Shuifu has only 25 years of history. It used to belong to Sichuan province, but it is now in Yunnan province. The Xiangjiaba Dam (simplified Chinese: 向家坝; traditional Chinese: 向家壩; pinyin: Xiàngjiābà) is a large hydroelectric dam on the Jinsha River, a tributary of the Yangtze River in Yunnan Province and Sichuan Province, southwest China. The facility runs on eight turbines, each with a capacity of 800 MW, totalling the generating capacity to 6,400 MW. When completed, it will be the fourth largest dam in China. Construction started on November 26, 2006, the dam is expected to impound the river in October 2012 and is scheduled for completion in 2015.
