There is a piece of legislation making its way through both the House of Representatives and Senate that could have real implications for freedom of speech in the media and on the Internet. On Wednesday, Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) introduced a bill that seeks to examine the prevalence of hate crime and hate speech on the Internet, television, and radio. Meanwhile, Congressman Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) introduced a companion piece in the House. The new Inquisition has begun - We are in a new Inquisition. Self-appointed censors try to stamp out any idea or word that they dont wish to be aired - in the pursuit of a new race, class, gender and environment orthodoxy. And fairness. Cant be leaving out fairness! BEHOLD! The future.... Chinese blogger jailed under crackdown on internet rumours - Qin Zhihui, who was detained in official effort to gain greater control over social media, found guilty of provoking troubles. They want our water, our land, our guns, our voices - our very lives. Surely it is time to wake up now peoples.
