Shutdown Dublin on December 8th 2014 12 hrs · . This page has been set up as a forum to create a co ordinated protest for Dec 8 2014 that will equal or surpass the 135,000 people effective turnout in Dublin on Saturday 11th of October in oppossition to the implementation of Water Charges and Water Meter Installation. Following a call from the organisers of the Right2Water Rally and March for local protests to be held on Sat Nov 1st that has been the focus of much debate and some disagreement a sizeable percentage of activists from across Dublin have called for a centralised protest both instead of local ones and or as an addition to local protests. We are now presenting Dec 8th 2014 as either an addition to maintain momentum as we approach first billing in Jan 2015 or as a centralised alternative that will allow groups to hold local protests on Nov 1st while building mobilisation towards a central shutdown. This particular date will also address one other requisite,to hold a major protest in the Capital,the seat of power on a weekday that can be attended by our many comrades and supporters from across the country.
