Siberian police let teen auction virginity ninemsn staff 5:31pm November 5, 2013 A Siberian teenager has been allowed to auction her virginity after police said she was not breaking any laws and they had no right to give a moral assessment of her actions. The 18-year-old, who gave only her nickname Shatuniha, posted a listing for her virginity on the Russian online auction site 24au.ru on October 30, describing the condition as new – not used. I am in urgent need of money, so I am selling the most precious thing I possess, she wrote. Shatuniha said she had a document that confirmed her virginity and asked the buyer to bring payment in cash. The ad was only listed for one day before a buyer using the name Evgeniy Volnov won the auction with a bid of $29,490. Police are refusing to investigate the auction, saying it does not fit into the definition of prostitution according to the Code of Administrative Violations, the Siberian Times reports. This situation is neither an administrative nor a criminal violation, a police spokesperson told the Siberian Times. The police said they had no right to give a moral assessment of the girl’s actions. The teen is believed to have posted a similar ad auctioning her virginity on a different website in April, when she was just 17. news.ninemsn.au/world/2013/11/05/17/31/siberian-police-let-teen-auction-virginity
