Sick in bed w/ annoying surgery related complications. Happy I have my Man Nurse (Murse? ha). He dispenses antibiotics! Makes chicken soup! plays guitar and sings! I have my laptop, and by genius of marketing, (or simply my own growing disconnection) still feel superficially cozy & connected to the entire universe, despite my hands being immersed in white Michael Jackson-esque spa mittens filled w/ coconut oil. YES, They now seem to make spa mittens you can type and text in! -Realizing my own absurdity, typing in spa mittens- I had a thought: Our culture is now never tuned out. It is always ON, even when we are supposed to be relaxing, on sabbatical, contemplative, or on the mend-Between the selfies on Mount Kilimanjaro, the live streaming you-tube videos from rock concerts, and the constant stream by twits on twitter-I realized why EVERYTHIHG seems so exhausted- It is. We are. I am. Cue Nap
