Sickle cell disease is an inherited blood disorder characterized by defective hemoglobin (a protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen to the tissues of the body). This disease can be very painful, and I have worked with lots of kiddos at camp that deal with these pains every single day. I have been asked to #singforsicklecell and now challenge Chelsea Bristol, Colin ONeill, Crystal Torraco, Adam Sandve, Hunter Brock and anyone who is willing!
