Sickness – this is when you are unwell. Everyone gets ill now and again and for this time off you could be entitled to either statutory sick pay (SSP) or company sick pay. If you are hourly paid and have less than 12 months’ continuous service you will receive Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) which is the amount of money we are required by law to pay you when you are sick. If you have more than 12 months’ continuous service you may be eligible for company sick pay, called Well Being Days (WBD) which allows you to accrue sick pay. SSP and WBD will be paid from the 3rd day of sickness only (2nd day for PT employees). For full details of the Statutory Sick Pay and Well Being Days scheme see Planet Pret. For monthly paid people, you are of course entitled to SSP. In addition to this you will be entitled to a maximum of four weeks’ company sick pay per year, which is discretionary
