Sidewinder Sprints – 07/12/14 Path Valley With the season hitting the ½ way mark, the first thing that jumps out is Brandon Yarlett’s continued speed now that his early season engine wiring issues are behind him. The first feature saw Brandon take the early lead until 600 superstar , Jim Young made his way to 2nd on lap 2. For the next 7 laps they would run side by side . Brandon on the high side , Jim on the low side. Both drivers commented later on how much fun it was to be racing so close and sideways on the slick surface e for lap after lap. Jim young would take command on the 9th lap and continue to lead the way to the flag and the first feature win. Mike Zielonis came home 3rd with newcomer Turk Tabb showing speed with a great 4th place finish. The 2nd feature saw Mike Zielonis and Hannah Riser scheduled for the front row. Unfortunately Hannah sustained engine problems earlier in the evening and was unable to take her position. This allowed Jim Young to start on the front row. The outside row had the advantage on the slick surface and Jim made the most of this to jump to the lead and was never headed to take his second win for the evening. ( 3rd if you count his 600cc win as well). Mike Zielonis continued with his consistency finishing in 2nd with Rohan Beasley coming home in 3rd. Turk Tabb once again showed speed with 4th and Brandon Yarlett finishing 5th.
