Sierra Chamber Singers The Sierra Chamber Singers and friends will perform their fall concert (music of the Civil War era), which pays special tribute to the signing of the Yosemite Grant by Abraham Lincoln over 150 years ago, 7 p.m., this Saturday, Nov. 8, and 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 9, at the Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church. Fresno actor, Walter Scott, will make an appearance as Abraham Lincoln at both programs. Actor Lincoln Scott, along with other members of the Chamber Singers, will perform readings of Lincolns memorable quotes while interjecting pieces of letters kept by Mountain Area families saved from this era. The finale includes a favorite song, The Battle Hymn of the Republic, performed in recognition of our veteran soldiers to say, thank you. This performance features soloists from area schools and in the end encourages audience participation. The concert is free. Vision Academy will accept donations at the door which goes towards providing scholarships to area highschool seniors, who are moving on in the Arts.
