Sierra Leone’s president, Ernest Bai Koroma has announced a house-to-house search in Freetown and its surrounding communities to “fish-out” Ebola patients from their homes and hand them over to holding centers. The search exercise will commence today December 17, 2014 and lasts for two weeks. All Sunday trading has been banned across the country and shopping activities on Saturdays will end at noon. The president has also imposed travel restriction between all districts. New Years Eve activities including church services have also been banned. All New Years Day celebrations and church services are also prohibited. The president has ordered all worshipers on Christmas day to return home immediately after service while those wishing to perform New Years Day service must do so on 31 December and their prayer sessions must close before 5:00pm.
