Sigh, God has been watching over me for a few years now, well all - TopicsExpress

Sigh, God has been watching over me for a few years now, well all my life actually. I am lucky I havent died, I know this sound kinda morbid, lol. I need to get this out. Please bear with me. When I left the casino, I lost my insurance. Not good for a diabetic! I went years without my meds and my sugar levels shot out the roof. Couldnt get any help from the state (Medicaid), working part time for minimum wage and still made too much money. They told me I didnt fit the criteria, wasnt 65, wasnt disabled, and wasnt pregnant. Needless to say I have been trying to get my levels down. I was able this year to get on the affordable health care act and get to a doctor and try to get back on track. My levels were dangerously high (300s&400s and even higher) I have been going to Courtney Brinkman at the health center since February. Losing the weight I did (80 pounds) helped a lot, but EVERYTIME I checked levels I got discouraged because they were still high. Insulin, other meds, counting carbs all that fun stuff, said no one ever! Wanting to just give up. Well, I went back in friday, we talked about adding a couple new meds. She did, I started taking them with my other meds and Saturday morning and evening level was under 275, Sundays were down too. 235 last night. This mornings reading was a whopping 195! Yup still a bit high but I havent been under 200 in years. I pray that this is the beginning of getting my levels under control! I have grand babies to watch grow up! Sorry this is so long but I am so happy and excited! Anyone out there, if you feel discouraged, and want to throw in the towel, DONT! You are worth the battle! No matter what that battle is! Talk to your medical provider! God bless you all!
