Sign the Petition, Stand for Justice! The case of Raymond Davis and Shahzaib has identified loopholes in the law which gives edge to the criminals to get away with Murders; under Pakistani law murder is a compoundable offense which in layman terms means that the heirs of the victim have the option to forgive the perpetrator or accept blood money. Therefore, murder in Pakistan is not an offense against the State but can be settled between the parties of their own accord. The Civil Society of Pakistan has developed a petition to ask the government of Pakistan to make Murder Crime against the state. The petition will be signed by the Civil Society and the Citizens of Pakistan, and will be sent via post to the President of Pakistan, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Provincial Chief Ministers, and Governors.
