Significant weather update - Victoria..... It looks like we are in for a very stormy day today across much of the State. A deepening low pressure trough is likely to produce widespread showers and thunderstorms. By the afternoon some of these are likely to be severe with large hail, damaging winds and heavy rain. The storms will clear eastwards during the afternoon and evening with the activity in the Melbourne region likely lasting until around 4-6pm. Keep a weather eye on the sky today as even this mornings higher based storms will be capable of cloud to ground lightning which can be a killer.
