Signs of the Season “[Jesus] replied, ‘When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.’” Matthew 16:2-3 NIV Ice over the puddles, These ever shortening days, And snow up on the mountains Mean winter’s on its way. We note the change of seasons - The signs are in the air. We often see them coming, And take time to prepare. There are more changes coming… Jesus said there’d be signs. The day of His appearing Could be at any time. So, how can we be ready To meet Him in the sky? Acknowledge Him as Lord, now, And pledge to Him our lives. Right now we’re in a season Of God’s amazing grace. But soon that will be changing – We’ll meet Him face to face. And what we’ve done with Jesus Is what will seal our fate. The time to choose is now, friend; Tomorrow may be too late. “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” Matthew 24:7-8 “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good… lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power… always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.” 2 Timothy 3:1-7
