Sikh Sangats stage hunger strike at Kathua NL Correspondent KATHUA, DEC. 25: All Sikh Sangat Welfare Front, ASSWF, staged hunger strike at Hatli Morh Kathua in support of Bhai Gurbachchan Singh, a social worker who is on hunger strike for 40 days. Surinder Singh Chairman of ASSWF informed that Sikh Sangats hailing from Kathua, today, staged hunger strike in support of Bhai Gurbachchan Singh who has been on strike for 40 days in Karnal in the demand to release all those Sikh political prisoners who have completed their imprisonment terms but still remain in different jails of Punjab and Haryana. He added that union government should intervene the matter and release all political victims. Jagdeep Singh Jagga, President of Youth wing of ASSWF has informed that Giani Gurbachan Singh, Jatherdar Akal Takhat, Amritsar has appealed to all Sikh community to celebrate Jan 1st as Black Day in support of Bhai Gurbachan Singh, social worker if his demand does not redress. Meanwhile, The Sikh Youth welfare Society, SYWS, Kathua unit also came out in support of Bhai Gurbhachan Singh, a social worker who called for one day’s mass strike at International level. Bhupinder Singh Sehgal, President SYWS, appealed Haryana and Punjab government to release political prisons that have completed their imprisonment term.
