Silent Sunday Pt. 79 It’s recently been the 4th Advent Sunday and here comes a late entry for the 79th edition of this little blog. Sorry about the delay, but the travel schedule here has been a bit crazy lately… Actually the original idea with this blog was to feature the not so obvious or already established bands, but like every good rule, there are exceptions…and today’s is Meshuggah, https://facebook/meshuggah And the reason why I decided to highlight this forward-thinking Swedish metal machinery is pretty simple: I attended Meshuggah’s concert here in my hometown Dortmund last Sunday, as they were touring in celebration of the 25th Anniversary since their first release. And that was one of the most impressing shows I have seen in a long time in terms of crystal-clear yet always powerful sound, striking light design, absolute tightness in performance as well as awesome audience energy. And the stunning live-set was kicked off with “Future Breed Machine”… It blows my mind that their ground-breaking “Destroy Erase Improve” album will already be turning 20 years in 2015.
