Silent Sunday Pt. 83 Uuups, late again because of travels…happy Monday! ;-) Short and sweet: Today’s 83rd Silent Sunday blog brings you UK’s Sylosis, https://facebook/Sylosis I have already been intrigued for a while by this Reading-based modern Thrash Metal outfit and their extremely passionate delivery of melodic, partly progressive but yet always cohesive Metal, which I guess could easily appeal to fans of Machine Head or Gojira. Sylosis, who now feature our Bleed From Within touring buddie Ali Richardson on drums, are an album-type band, where you should spend some time to allow the music and their vibe to properly grow on you. And what better timing for that than now when their fourth studio effort “Dormant Heart” (Once again powerfully recorded with Stampin’ Ground’s Scott Atkins) has been released this week via Nuclear Blast Records?! Sylosis were originally formed by guitarist/vocalist Josh Middleton back in 2000 at age 15 and have making pretty large steps musically and as composers sincer their two debut EP’s and the “Conclusion Of An Age” debut in 2008. In fact, Even though they were plagued by plenty of line-up changes throughout the years, 2011’s “Edge Of The Earth” (which first saw Middleton assuming vocal duties), as well as 2012’s “Monolith” albums already saw the band morphing away from their rather conventional Metalcore / Deathrash origins to become a more individual, varied, atmospheric and compact modern Metal act.
