Silo mentalitｙ サイロ思考とは・・・ 組織の中で他の部門や組織全体よりも、自分の部門だけを考える傾向を意味します。この言葉は、穀物を保管するサイロからきています。高くて細くて、窓がなく窒息しそうなサイロは、典型的な 部門における出世コース、というわけです。サイロ思考はアメリカの組織が持つ弱点です。アメリカの企業や労働市場は一つの分野に深い知識と経験を持つ人を評価しているため、従業員が自分の専門外のことに関心を持つ必要がないことが多いのです。 The tendency of people in an organization to only pay attention to their particular functional area, rather than other departments or the organization as a whole. The term is taken from a grain silo, which is tall and narrow (like the career ladder in a typical department), has no windows, and sometimes can be suffocating. Silo mentality is a common weakness of American organizations.
