Simple Suet Recipe Suet recipes do not need to be complicated in order to attract a range of hungry birds. Before offering the suet to the birds, however, it should be rendered. Having the beef suet ground up at your suet provider first will make the rendering process easier. Locally, Colony Market, will save meat trimmings. Please call a head and remember to ask them to grind it for you. Rendering: Simply heat the suet in a microwave until it is clear twice allowing it to cool completely in between. The third time you heat it is when you can add goodies* such as all-natural peanut butter, core meal, chopped raisins, peanuts, etc. Pour the mixture into a cake pan to cool and later cut to size suet holder. * You dont need to add anything, but rendering is important.
